Year 6 Residential 2026
Straight after half term and the majority of Year 6 children were away from school again but this time on an exciting adventure by attending their residential visit to Lockerbie, Scotland.
After a stop off for lunch at Gretna Green (where one of our boys was going to be a best man only a few days later), the troupe arrived at Lockerbie Manor to see the grand manor house and extensive outdoor site.
Over the days, everyone orientated themselves to their new surroundings as well as taking part in a wide range of activities which challenged skills and fears. However, everyone met the challenges put before them with determination and resilience. From abseiling to zip wire, abseiling to climbing, archery to fencing, there was something for everyone to enjoy or overcome.
Of course, some of the most fun was in the everyday aspects such as eating together, playing in some downtime, and sharing dorms. On the evenings, there was even the chance to congregate and play games to relax before bed.
By the end of the three days, there were some very tired children who had learned more about themselves as well as recognising some significant achievements. The staff were extremely proud of the whole group who had made this such a lovely experience for all.
