Surveys

As a school that fundamentally believes in the partnership between home and school, the voice of families is essential in shaping our provision.  To this end, we will survey families in different ways in order to collate views about our practice.

Whenever we survey our community, we take some time to appreciate the positive comments we receive but then, inevitably, begin considering the potential areas for development that could improve our practice.  We hugely appreciate the time taken by parents/carers to complete such surveys and it is this partnership which we value so highly in terms of supporting all our children to grow happy, healthy and successful.

Post SATs Pupil Survey

We know that Year 6 SATs can be challenging time in many ways, regardless of how teachers and parents/carers support and reassure children.  Although we felt our children were prepared and confident when sitting their end of key stage assessments, we wanted to hear from the them directly.  Therefore, we surveyed the children with some simple questions so that they could share how they felt and what helped them.  The results were extremely positive with an average score of 4.4 in relation to how children were feeling about how they handled the experience.  Please see the full report below.

Transition to Reception

The transition to primary school is an extremely important one, for both children and their families.  At Harlow Green, we spend considerable time planning for this transition in our aim to create the best situation for children to start school quickly and to settle into the routines which will support their development.  We constantly evaluate how we manage this process but the opinions of families, who are on the receiving end of our approach, is what matters in relation to how effective we are.  Consequently, we survey Reception parents/carers to identify how successful we have been in our aims at the end of the autumn term.  We are extremely pleased with the responses, as can be seen in the summary which can be accessed by clicking on the image below:

Whole School Views

At the end of the 2024-2025 academic year, we sought the general views of parents/carers with the standards ‘Ofsted’ survey.  The outcome of this was hugely positive and we were proud of how the school is perceived by the vast majority of our community.  The comments that were also provided were hugely appreciated and have allowed us to see what we are currently doing well as well as motivating us to continue to improve in the same direction.  Please see the results by clicking on the image below:
