Year 6 Tennis Team Success

The Year 6 Tennis tournament at Cardinal Hume, which took place on Tuesday 10th June, might as well have been Wimbledon in July - not just because of the excellent play, but because of the unpredictable weather!

The children from 7 different schools had to brave torrential rain and hail, as well as bright sunshine, to play multiple matches over the afternoon.  It was a superb display of resilience and determination from everyone.

The Harlow Green team of 4 boys and 4 girls were unbelievable as they applied all they had learned in Tennis Club over the last year.  Each and every player racked up points, winning virtually all of their games.  However, what was just as impressive was the fair play and positive interaction between players across the schools.

At the end of the competition, when all teams had played their rounds, the nervous wait was over and Harlow Green was awarded first place - much to the delight of our children!

Listening to teaching, practising and working hard, supporting each other, having a positive mindset in the face of challenge - these aspects are the key to success, and the Harlow Green Year 6 Tennis Team should be proud of having achieved it all.
